A joint venture between High Street Residential—Trammell Crow Co.‘s residential subsidiary—and Daiwa House Industry Co. Ltd. has broken ground on River Oaks at Westheimer, a 209-unit luxury multifamily project in Houston. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank provided construction financing, while Hoar Construction will serve as general contractor. Delivery of the first units is expected in the first quarter of 2025.
The 12-story community will incorporate one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans, averaging approximately 1,400 square feet, along with 2,900 square feet of ground-floor retail. Community amenities will encompass a fitness center, coworking spaces, swimming pool, spa, yoga room, pet grooming station and sky lounge, along with EV charging.
Zeigler Cooper Architects serves as the project’s main architect, with Rottet Studio handling interior design and Kudela & Weinheimer Landscape Architects in charge of landscaping.
Located at 2311 Westheimer Road, the development site is close to Interstate 69, placing it some 5 miles from downtown Houston. Situated in the walkable River Oaks neighborhood, residents will have immediate access to numerous retail, dining and entertainments options.
Principal at High Street Residential Yewande Fapohunda stated in prepared remarks that the company is aiming to integrate the development into its walkable surroundings with bringing café and bistro tenants to its retail space. Late last year, High Street entered a joint venture to develop another Texas luxury community, in Austin. The 377-unit tower is set to rise 43 stories.
