Gainesville’s Newest Hotel Indigo has a Different Beginning

by | Jan 18, 2018 | News

The six-story Hotel Indigo broke ground in August 2017 and it will be one of the anchor tenants for the mixed-use development off Archer Road. The 140-room hotel is located in Celebration Pointe’s Technology District, overlooking Tech Park, and within walking distance to the retail center and Regal Cinemas.

Owners Peachtree Hotel Group and Celebration Pointe Holdings (CPH) worked with general contractor Hoar to explore using the innovative and technology-driven construction method called Prescient (https://www.prescientco.com/),a cost-effective prefabricated metal framing system. being used on the second through sixth floors that sit on a steel podium.

Having the 93,500 square foot hotel constructed using Prescient’s system allows the structure to be built on site faster, as it is assembled much like a Lincoln Log or Erector set. In addition, it removes the reshoring required for a traditional concrete frame, which allows the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades to follow directly behind the erection crew.

As is custom for the Hotel Indigo brand, this new hotel will have unique finishes representing the local neighborhood, unlike any other in the world. Each Hotel Indigo tells a story, and this location will focus on the history of Payne’s Prairie and other surrounding areas.
