Hoar Construction Finishes Award-Winning Year

In addition to being named Company of the Year by Construction Dive, a leading industry news publisher, Hoar also was recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and ENR with awards recognizing our outstanding construction projects in 2018.

Our Texas Division’s Abilene Christian University Wildcat Stadium team was recognized in March with a National ABC Pyramid award at the Long Beach, Calif, award ceremony. The same team earned an Award of Merit in ENR Texas & Louisiana’s annual Best Project Awards in the Sports and Entertainment category. More than 120 entries were submitted, and 42 projects were recognized.

Hoar recently had five projects recognized by ABC Alabama at its November awards banquet.

Eagle Awards

Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital (Healthcare Less Than $10 million) – a 20,000 SF expansion that included patient rooms, nursing station, and therapy rooms.

The Morris (Residential Multifamily) – 19-story concrete high rise, featuring 344 luxury apartments and a six-level parking deck

Merit Awards

Poff Federal Building Renovation (Federal Government/Military $10-$100 million) – renovation of 14 high-rise office including masonry façade, glass curtainwalls, and parking areas.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga West Campus Housing (Institutional $50-$100 million) – 225,000 SF residence hall with underground parking and a new tennis center.

The Ascent at Victory Park (Residential Multifamily) – L-shaped building with 23 and 21 floors, 302 units, and 3,000 SF of ground-level retail.

​The Morris and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga West Campus Housing projects also won Eagle awards at ABC Greater Tennessee’s awards banquet in October.

The Ascent at Victory Park took home an Excellence in Construction- ICE Award from the ABC Greater Houston and the ABC Central Texas chapters.

The Florida Division’s Regal Cinemas Celebration Pointe team was named an Eagle Award winner in the Entertainment $10-$20 million category by ABC Central Florida at its banquet in October.
