Berkeley Medical Center

Hoar Construction is proud to partner with WVU Medicine on a major healthcare investment, advancing care delivery for West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle. Hoar Construction is delivering a new patient tower that will increase inpatient capacity from 190 to 325 beds and eliminate all semi-private rooms.

The development also includes a redesigned Emergency Department flow, replacement of the linear accelerator in the radiation oncology center, and significant upgrades to campus access with up to 450 additional parking spaces supported by a parking bridge and shuttle service. Construction began in October 2025 with the start of parking infrastructure improvements, and the new patient tower is scheduled to open in early 2028, positioning Berkeley Medical Center to provide state-of-the-art care for generations to come.
