Elysium Fourteen is a 56-unit high-end apartment project on 14th Street NW, in the heart of one of DC’s fastest growing and trendiest locations. The project includes a new 9-story tower, ground floor retail, and the renovation and restoration of two existing historic buildings.
The location of the project is central to many challenges. The building to the North and the historic structures onsite require underpinning the existing foundations to build additional retail cellar space. The site is also located just one block from the DC Metro on a very busy street, directly abutting public streets on three sides, which need to remain operational during construction. One elevation requires construction only centimeters from the adjacent property. And the site, having only 7,000 square feet of open space, offers no staging area and thus requires detailed logistical planning to facilitate deliveries that support the project schedule, while ensuring the surrounding public areas remain operational and safe.
