Located on one of the last remaining undeveloped parcels of CityCentre in west Houston, the CityCentre Four site measures just 176 feet by 221 feet.
The challenging project involved wedging the sleek new 123,000 square-foot mixed-use facility into the tiny pocket of land just five feet away from the Beltway 8 access road, 80 feet from the Hotel Sorella, and 25 feet south of CityCentre Three. The building is a core and shell office on floors two through six, with retail and dining on the first floor. It is almost a twin to CityCentre Three, which we also built. The site surroundings, compounded by overhead construction and 24/7/365 activity demand more stringent safety measures. Building materials were often delivered to the site overnight; visitors were separated from the site by 8-foot walls; and we altered traffic flow on CityCentre Way. Despite the challenges, we planned construction so as to avoid interrupting operations at CityCentre, one of Midway’s major requirements of Hoar Construction.
