UTC University Center

The University Center Renovations Project is a multi-phased, occupied renovation of approximately 147,519 square feet and three levels of the University Center, which is the most heavily trafficked building on Campus. The project consists of selective spatial reconfigurations, where the scope includes a full gut and renovation of the space to support growing campus operations. Other areas not receiving full renovation include finishes and lighting upgrades to better align with campus branding. Additionally, we are performing a full roof replacement, fire alarm replacement, and building automation system overhaul. To support the campus’ faculty and students, the renovation was broken into 14 phases so that the building could remain open and operational during construction. Achieving this requires thorough coordination & communication to maintain all life safety and MEP systems across the building while under construction. Moreover, this necessitated an in-depth understanding of sequencing and as-built conditions to properly scope out portions of work that were required to be performed to maintain occupancy that may not be reflected in the Contract Documents.
