UAB Volker Hall

The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Volker Hall renovation and addition involved over 100,000 square feet of new construction and renovation of laboratories, classrooms, offices, and lecture facilities.

We were awarded the project through a hard-bid process and had very little involvement with the preconstruction process. The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology has 20,000 square feet of research space in the facility. The project created additional and improved classroom space for small group learning, moved classroom space from the lower levels of the facility, and provided a clear identity for the entrance to the School of Medicine from University Boulevard, giving the school a position of prominence on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus.
