The people who plan, manage, and build our projects are all experts in their field, and an integral part of our company’s success.  Jessenia Arroyave is an assistant project manager with experience building in the entertainment, mixed-use, multifamily, and senior living market sectors. Here’s eight questions to get to know more about her.

1. What’s your current day-to-day look like?

I spend the majority of my day answering emails, problem solving, and speaking with trade partners.

2. What’s the one lesson you’ve learned in this industry that’s stuck with you?

“Trust but verify,” is my favorite quote and something I try to be mindful of every day at work.

3. What project are you on now?

An expansion project for Lakeview Terrace, a retirement community in Umatilla, FL.

4. How did you get started in the industry?

I started my career in construction as a safety admin. It didn’t take long for me to realize I really enjoyed what I was doing, so I decided to go back to school to pursue a degree in Construction Management.

5. What’s your fondest memory from your time with Hoar Construction?

I truly am so fond of everyone at Hoar and the relationships that I have built within this company. My fondest moment was when one of my past project teams went on a fishing trip and I scored all the fish while everyone was either asleep or sea sick.

6. What’s the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is that every day is different. There are certain tasks you will do every day, but you never know what fires will pop up that you will need to put out. It’s the thrill of it all.

7. What’s your hidden talent?

I love to sing (I’m not very good), but my talent is that I know most words to a lot of songs.

8. What’s your proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is getting to work for such an incredible company where I feel like it is not just a work environment, but a family atmosphere. I truly believe we have an open-door policy and I feel like a valued member of this organization.
