As of Friday, Turner Burton began serving as president of Hoar Construction; Rob Burton remains chairman and CEO. In addition, Randall Curtis has been named COO, and Will Watson has taken over as vice president of the Alabama Division.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead the company into the next chapter. We have the strongest group of divisional leadership in place in company history. I am excited to see what this team will be able to accomplish going forward,” Turner Burton said. “Our company is growing, and with this growth we will be providing great opportunities for current employees and new hires to help lead the company into the future.”
Turner Burton has served the company in various roles and began working full time as an assistant superintendent on the Shelby School of Engineering while earning his bachelor of science degree in Building Science. After graduation Turner moved to Colorado for two years and worked as a project superintendent. He returned to Birmingham and worked in estimating, project management, sales, and has most recently been the vice president of the Alabama Division.
“This is a plan that has been carefully considered for several years, and we are excited to see the fruits of those conversations and that strategic planning begin to unfold,” Rob Burton said. “I will continue to work with Turner, for the next five to 10 years to ensure a successful transition.”
Curtis is a 25-year veteran of Hoar and has worked in the Estimating Department, served in several project management roles, and launched and managed Hoar’s Government Division. Most recently, he has been in operations, serving as executive vice president of field operations since 2016.
Watson has also spent his career at Hoar, serving in various project management roles and as division manager of the Government Division. He was named director of operations for the Alabama Division in 2014 and his operations expertise and commitment to business development and Hoar’s expanding sales culture will be key in his new role.
