Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC provides a complete one-stop shopping experience in an inviting atmosphere on a main street setting. It has the perfect combination of retail, office, and residential units. The center currently has over 60 retail shops, 10 restaurants, and a 16-screen movie theater. North American Properties wanted to transform the 52-acre mixed-use development into a modern-day community gathering place making improvements to the updated green space to feature upscale outdoor lounge areas, a full-service concierge and vale,t as well as new retail and dining offerings. The roundabout in the center of Birkdale Village has been removed to make room for The Parkway, The Plaza, and The Grove — three new experience-centered venues. Three standalone retail “jewel boxes” will be added to The Parkway. The Plaza will have a 6,000-square-foot shaded green space with soft seating, a 16×20 LED screen, and a covered stage. The Grove will have 4 small retail “kiosks” housing food vendors and merchandisers. LED lights are also being added to the existing interactive fountain giving it a more vibrant look, especially at night.

These changes are designed to enhance walkability and connectivity across the property to create a vibrant environment for the community to pass the time dining, shopping, and gathering.
