Maritime Park

The construction of the Maritime Park baseball stadium in Pensacola, Florida, threw Hoar Construction a lot of curveballs, but we hit it out of the park.

The project began with a small brownfield and ended 24 months later with an outdoor amphitheater, man-made lake, and a minor league stadium that would be named Baseballparks.com’s Ballpark of the Year, beating even major league parks. Despite major changes – including a mid-project decision to more than double the size of the stadium – the project was completed on its original schedule. Throughout the project, the team’s quick thinking and ingenuity helped us overcome significant challenges. We constructed new land to build the amphitheater into the bay and reinforced the entire park to make it hurricane-resilient. What could have been a major issue with dredging was solved when the team found a way to pump 14 million gallons of water across the site and into a wastewater treatment facility. In all, Maritime Park ended up being both one of the most challenging and most rewarding projects for the Hoar team.
