by | Mar 13, 2017 | News

Hoar Construction’s Baybrook Mall team out of Houston, Texas, was recently recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. during the 2016 Excellence in Construction Awards, a national awards ceremony held in Fort Lauderdale.

The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality construction projects, with an Eagle Award presented to the top project in each category. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

Previously, the Baybrook team received the ENR Texas & Louisiana 2016 Excellence in Safety Award. The award is part of the annual regional Best Projects competition. Baybrook was recognized for their outstanding safety records and job site procedures.

The 280,400 SF, 10-building lifestyle center expanded the Baybrook Mall nearly 50%. The expansion included a new parking garage, updated mall entrance and high-end retail and restaurant tenants, anchored by a football field sized lawn for community gathering and al fresco dining experiences. Hoar Construction served as construction manager, Omni Plan as architect and General Growth Properties as owner. Brown & Gay served as civil engineer.

The Excellence in Construction Award and ENR Excellence in Safety Award are proud achievements, and a testament to Hoar Construction’s commitment to a safe and skilled workforce.
